SUMMARY:Virtual Valentine's Auction
DESCRIPTION:CASA of the Heartland is hosting an online auction\, featuring close to 40 items perfect for Valentine’s Day. Some of the items included in the auction include a gift card to Magnolia Day Spa\, diamond cluster earrings from Clark Jewelers and a red Coach tote bag. Bidding starts Monday\, Feb. 7 at noon and the auction will end Wednesday\, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. All bidding will take place on CASA of the Heartland’s Facebook page and bidding must be done in $5 increments. \nThe winning bidder for each item will be notified via Facebook Messenger at the end of the auction. Payment (or payment arrangements) must be made within 24 hours of the auction’s end or the item will be offered to the second-highest bidder. CASA of the Heartland accepts check\, credit card\, and exact cash (no change will be given) payments. Items must be picked up from the CASA of the Heartland office\, located at 580 Westport Road\, Suite D in Elizabethtown. Winning bidders are asked to enter through the rear of the building and must wear a mask when entering the building. Items can be picked up Thursday\, Feb. 10 or Friday\, Feb. 11 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. \nProceeds from the auction will go towards CASA of the Heartland’s mission to provide court-appointed special advocates for abused and neglected children navigating the court system. In addition\, 10% of proceeds will go towards the annual WHAS Crusade for Children.

DESCRIPTION:Local organization Girls United #Gamechanger will host a mind and positivity workshop at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College\, designed to teach young girls practical ways to conquer a healthy body image and self esteem. Hosted by instructor Kayla Douthitt\, the event will take place in room 210 of ECTC’s RPC building\, located on the second floor. There will be three separate sessions\, including a 10 a.m. session for girls age 9-12\, an 11 a.m. session for girls age 13-15 and a noon session for girls 16 and up. SUMMARY:Brotherhood Banquet
DESCRIPTION:The 57th Annual Brotherhood Charity Banquet is set to take place at the Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. In addition to a dinner\, the event will include both in-person and online auctions\, along with a raffle. Organized by the Elizabethtown Knights of Columbus and the RIASOK Shrine Club\, all proceeds from the event benefit Kosair Charities. Over $800\,000 has been raised for Kosair throughout the years through the banquet. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person and tables of eight can be reserved in advance for $500.
