DESCRIPTION:The Hardin County History Museum proudly presents the 3rd Annual “Tim Walker Founders’ Day 5K Run/ Walk.” This historic event is dedicated to one of the original Founders’ Day organizers and past  Hardin County History Museum presidents\, Tim C. Walker who also served as mayor from (2011-2013) before his term was cut short by his untimely death on June 14\, 2013. \nTim was a lover of history and a wonderful leader here at the museum\, in the local community\, and in his church. As a leader\, he shared his faith and his vision to improve the quality of life for all. This 5k is dedicated to his memory and was created to honor his legacy by bringing families together in downtown Elizabethtown to celebrate our city’s birth.\nRobert F. Kennedy once said\, “It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal\, or acts to improve the lot of others\, or strikes out against injustice\, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” \nTim Walker shaped the history of Elizabethtown and Hardin County and made it a better place\, so please join us on July 3rd! \nEach registered runner will receive a Race T-shirt (registration deadline for the shirt is June 19\, 2021)

SUMMARY:The Duane Klug/Hunter Serna Memorial 5K
DESCRIPTION:This memorial race is a fundraiser for the North Hardin High School Boys “Trojans” Soccer Team.  This race is hosted to honor the memory of our former coach\, Coach Duane Klug\, who passed away in 2013\, as well as Hunter Serna who is a former player who passed away in April of 2020. It plays a big factor in raising money for the upcoming boy’s soccer season\, which both Coach Klug and Hunter were passionate about.   This 5K event starts at North Hardin High School in Radcliff\, KY.  Pre-registrants ONLY will receive a race shirt.  This race will NOT be chip-timed.  Awards will be given for Top Male and Female finisher and the top three finishers in each age group. Both Male and Female racers will have their own groups.

DESCRIPTION:The Optimist Club of Radcliff is part of Optimist International and is proudly hosting the 2021 Opt-2-Run for Kids 5K. Optimist International is an association of more than 2\,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids”. Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their\ncommunities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts\nprograms to meet those needs. Every year\, Optimists conduct 65\,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people. Since 1963 the Optimist\nClub of Radcliff has faithfully conducted several projects annually\, including essay and oratorical contests\, sports competitions\, and fun activities directed at\nfamily fun. The proceeds from this event will continue to benefit the previously mentioned activities. \nPRICE\nRegistration Fee  $25 \nKids 12 & Under $15 \nSWAG\nAll runners that register by the t-shirt deadline (July 16\, 2021) will receive a FREE race t-shirt. Runners who complete the course on race day will also receive a finishers medal.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our 5th annual Autism community event the Autism SpectRUN 5K. All proceeds from this family fun 5K will benefit Camp TESSA of Hardin County. Camp TESSA (Teaching Effective Social skills to Students with Autism) is a week-long summer day camp provided in Hardin County. Participants engage in various activities to practice social skills\, including music\, art\, mealtime\, games\, and field trips. Support is provided by various community members\, teachers\, therapists\, parents\, and peer partners. \nEach registered runner will receive a race t-shirt! T-shirts will not be included in the 9 and under category (unless registered as a paid participant). The deadline to sign up and get a guaranteed t-shirt is April 8th!

DESCRIPTION:The Hardin County History Museum and the Elizabethtown Sports Park proudly present the 4th Annual “Tim Walker Founders’ Day 5K Run/ Walk” Monday\, July 4\, 2022\, at the Elizabethtown Sports Park. This historic event is dedicated to one of the original Founders’ Day organizers and past  Hardin County History Museum presidents\, Tim C. Walker who also served as mayor from (2011-2013) before his term was cut short by his untimely death on June 14\, 2013. \nTim Walker shaped the history of Elizabethtown and Hardin County and made it a better place\, so please join us on July 4th! \nRegistration \nEach registered runner will receive a Race T-shirt (registration deadline for the shirt is June 24\, 2022) \nPacket Pickup \nPacket pickup will be race morning beginning at 7am. The race will begin at 8am. We will run two loops around the beautiful paved trail around the Sports Park. There will be a water stop at the 1.5 mile turnaround point. Bathrooms will be open for the runners at the Sports Park.\nThis race is a fundraiser for the Hardin County History Museum and is in honor of our late Mayor Tim Walker who created Founders’ Day and race organizers moved it to the Sports Park he loved and helped create making the day even better. DESCRIPTION:Get your fitness on Saturday\, August 12th\, at Beautiful Buttermilk Falls in Brandenburg with the Talon’s Trail to Triumph 5K Run/Walk beginning at 8am. Race registration is $25. Kids 12 and under run free. \nThis 5k is a charity fundraiser for the family of Talon Lopez. Talon is a 9-year-old boy with an anoxic brain injury from a near-fatal drowning due to an ATV accident. Profited money from runner and walker registrations and donations will go toward Talon’s medical expenses. Some treatments are paid out of pocket to improve Talon’s quality of life. \nRace day check-in will begin at 7am at the trailhead for Buttermilk Falls\, with the race officially starting at 8am. \nPlease join us on August 12th at 8am to show your support!

Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 10 men are affected by domestic/intimate partner violence each year? Help us take a bite out of domestic violence in our community and show your support. \nEvent Details: \n\nPacket Pickup: 7:30 AM EDT\, Severns Valley Baptist Church parking lot near the start/finish line (race morning only).\nRegistration: $20 per person through September 29\, 2023. To receive a race day t-shirt\, register before October 5\, 2023\, due to printing deadlines. Late Registration is $25 through October 21\, 2022\, @ 8:30 am.
