DESCRIPTION:As part of their Leader Lesson series\, the General George Patton Museum of Leadership in Fort Knox will host Major General (Retired) Marcia Anderson. A retired senior officer of the United States Army Reserve\, Anderson was the first African American woman to become a major general in the Army Reserve. Her last two assignments before her retirement were Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Human Resources Command and Deputy Chief of the Army Reserve. She has been awarded the AUSA’s GM James Earl Rudder Medal and has been inducted into the Army Women’s Foundation Hall of Fame. The leadership discussion will take place inside the museum’s Abrams Auditorium.

DESCRIPTION:The MWR Fort Knox Race Series is set to host its first race of the year as the Shamrock Shuffle 5K kicks off at the Samuel Adams Brewhouse. In addition to the race\, a Saint Patrick’s Day-themed costume contest also will take place and prizes for best costume will be given out before the race. The costume contest is set for 5:20 p.m.\, a safety brief will take place at 5:25 and the race will begin at 5:30. The event is $20 for those 13 and up\, $15 for those ages five to 12 and free to those five and under.
