Heartland Homecoming Parade Preview

August 21, 2019 By Greg Milby

Elizabethtown City Events Coordinator Sarah Vaughn joins me to talk about the 2019 Heartland Homecoming Parade Saturday, August 24th in downtown Elizabethtown.

Road Closures during the Parade

1.            Dixie Highway from Central Ave. to St. John Road will be closed approximately 9:30a-12p (or once all parade entries have cleared).

2.            Traffic traveling south on Dixie Highway will be required to turn right onto St. John Rd to the Bypass to be routed around the downtown area.

3.            Traffic traveling north on Dixie will be required to either take New Glendale Road to the Bypass or Poplar to Miles Street, to Ring Road. You will not be permitted to take Poplar to the Helmwood Plaza shopping center.

4.            Keep note that the parade will disassemble at the Helmwood Plaza Shopping Center. To exit out of the parking lot, patrons must turn right onto Dieck’s Drive (left will be closed) and travel through neighborhoods, or will be stuck on Poplar until all road closures are open.

5.            Local traffic only will be permitted onto Poplar.
