Patton Museum Leadership Session #1- Matthew “Griff” Griffin

October 29, 2021 By Greg Milby

The Patton Museum of Leadership is honored to offer the inaugural event in their “Leader Lessons” series featuring Matthew Griffin, CEO of Combat Flip Flops.

This speaker series presented by the Patton Museum Foundation and the General George Patton Museum will highlight exemplary leaders in the military and civilian sectors as they present their perspectives on leadership excellence.

Our first guest in the seminar series, Matthew “Griff” Griffin, co-founded Combat Flip Flops in Kabul, Afghanistan, and now specializes in developing solutions for companies growing their business in “difficult” locations. A 2001 Graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Engineering Management, “Griff” served in the 75th Ranger Regiment as a Rifle Company Fire Support Officer with three tours to Afghanistan and one tour to Iraq. Post military, Mr. Griffin moved to the private sector as the Director of Military Sales for Remote Medical International and the Director of Special Operations for Protect the Force.

He was a 2019 Henry Crown Fellow with the Aspen Global Leadership Institute. Griff currently serves as a logistics officer for Team 5 Foundation. Recently Griff penned the viral post, “Written in Taliban” and has had numerous appearances on Fox News.

The first “Leader Lessons” seminar was presented live at the museum by the Patton Museum Foundation, Swope Family of Dealerships, and Kentucky’s Heartland Friday, October 8, 2021, at the General George Patton Museum.
