ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky—Get ready for a high-flying adventure! The United Way of Central Kentucky (UWCK) is excited to announce its inaugural Skydive for Change fundraiser, set to take place at the Elizabethtown Regional Airport on Saturday, August 24. This event, held in partnership with Skydive Kentucky, promises an adrenaline-pumping experience as 32 brave participants jump from 12,000 feet, all in support of UWCK.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the sky will be filled with courageous individuals, each committed to raising $1,500 for UWCK’s Operation Good Neighbor program. This program plays a vital role in helping at-risk community members stay in their homes by fostering collaborations between community volunteers, organizations, schools, and churches across Hardin, Meade, Breckinridge, LaRue, and Grayson counties.
“Skydive for Change is a thrilling way to bring our community together for a great cause,” said UWCK President Christa Shouse. “Every jumper’s bravery is matched by their commitment to support our neighbors in need.”
UWCK is still seeking adventurous souls who are willing to take the plunge and raise funds. Participants can gather donations individually or represent their businesses or organizations. Each participant will receive a custom fundraising website to share with friends, family, and coworkers. The sign-up deadline is August 10, and prospective jumpers can register at skydivekentucky.com/jump-form-page.
Skydive Kentucky will provide training for all participants ahead of the event, ensuring everyone is prepared for their exhilarating leap.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available, allowing businesses to support this impactful cause. More information can be found at skydivekentucky.com/sponsorship-page.
“Skydive for Change not only raises critical funds but also highlights the spirit of adventure and generosity in our community,” Shouse added. “We are looking forward to a great outcome for our Operation Good Neighbor initiative thanks to these brave jumpers.”
