Warming Centers Now Open in Hardin County

As winter weather intensifies, staying safe and warm is a top priority. Hardin County Emergency Manager Joey Scott has announced that warming centers are now open across the county. These centers offer a safe haven for those who have lost power or need a warm place to escape the cold.

If you or someone you know needs assistance, here’s what you need to know:


Warming Center Locations

The following sites are open and ready to help:

  • West 84 Fire Department
    21129 Sonora Hardin Springs Rd., Big Clifty
  • Rineyville Fire Department
    6038 Rineyville Rd., Rineyville
  • Central Hardin Volunteer Fire Dept Station 1
    2220 Ring Rd., Elizabethtown
  • Central Hardin Volunteer Fire Dept Station 2
    114 Nicholas St., Elizabethtown
  • Valley Creek Fire Department
    2927 Valley Creek Rd., Elizabethtown
  • Vine Grove Fire Department
    513 Highland Ave., Vine Grove
  • Stephensburg Fire Department
    10601 Leitchfield Rd., Cecilia
  • Upton Community Center
    377 College Street Rd., Upton

What to Expect

  • Warming Only: These centers are designed to provide warmth but do not offer food, supplies, or accommodations for long-term stays.
  • Bring Essentials: If you plan to stay for a while, pack any necessities you may need, such as snacks, water, blankets, or medications.

How to Get Help

  • Emergency Operations Center: For questions or guidance, call 270-765-5978.
  • For Emergencies: Dial 911 immediately.
