ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky – Heartland Communications Consultants (HCC) is pleased to announce Greg Milby will join the firm Dec. 3. After more than 14 years with WQXE, Milby’s last day with the community radio station is Nov. 29.
The longtime program manager and on-air personality expressed gratitude to WQXE listeners and the team with whom he has worked day in and day out for more than a decade.
“It is hard to put into words what my time at WQXE has meant to me and my family,” said Milby. “It is such a privilege to work for a radio station that embodies the true spirit of community. I am grateful for our listeners, for the wonderful people throughout this region who I’ve had the privilege of getting to know and for the entire team at WQXE.”
Milby said he is excited that in his new role as HCC’s Community Storyteller, continuing to share stories that make this region so special through HCC’s new corporate blog – a multimedia digital platform at KentuckysHeartland.com.
“Starting Jan. 2, Greg’s loyal listeners and followers will be able to hear from him each day at our corporate blog, where he will share our clients’ and the broader region’s stories,” said Rambo. “We have long talked about being intentional in showcasing our clients’ contributions to this region. With Greg on our team, we have the epitome of a community ambassador who will devote time to doing just that, in addition to traditional account management.”
Rambo added that for many of HCC’s clients, it is not only important to promote their work but also the region’s quality of place. Milby will oversee the development of that content, too.
Rambo said between now and the new year, Milby’s fans can get a sneak preview of his work on social media as he begins developing profiles of the people and places that make Central Kentucky great. Follow Milby on Facebook and Instagram @kentuckysheartland and on Twitter @kysheartland.
Milby, his wife, Jennifer, and the couple’s two children moved from Corydon, Indiana to Elizabethtown six years ago.
“It was the best decision we ever made,” said Milby. “We just love it here.”
Originally from Green County, Milby was born at Hardin Memorial Hospital and grew up in Louisville where he graduated from Fairdale High School and then studied electronic engineering at ITT Technical Institute’s Louisville Campus.
Rambo remarked that HCC’s work and Greg’s work at WQXE often paralleled one another. He called Milby a longtime friend and community partner.
“It seems only fitting that our paths would merge at a time when our community and our firm are experiencing growth,” said Rambo. “We are thrilled to have Greg on our team.”
