Lakewood Elementary School is delighted to announce the appointment of Angela Pike as the school’s new principal, effective immediately. Mrs. Pike, a seasoned educator, and former assistant principal at Lakewood, brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to the school community.
Having spent her entire career at Lakewood, Mrs. Pike expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being entrusted with this role, saying, “Lakewood is home to me. I’ve spent my entire career here, and this principal’s position is the only one I’ve ever applied for. This school has my heart and soul.”
Mrs. Pike’s journey at Lakewood began as a fourth-grade teacher at the former Lynnvale Elementary School. When Lynnvale merged with Western Elementary to form Lakewood, she seamlessly transitioned to the new school. Over the years, she served in various capacities, including literacy specialist, Title I coordinator, and assistant principal.
With her focus on building strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and students, Mrs. Pike emphasizes the importance of teamwork and collaboration. “We are on the same team,” she stated. “Helping the next generation grow and work collaboratively despite differences is extremely important. The growth of strong and meaningful relationships while succeeding in and out of the classroom will continue to thrive at Lakewood.”
Mrs. Pike is a graduate of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and Western Kentucky University, where she earned a master’s degree and two principal certifications. Her academic background, coupled with her deep connection to the Lakewood community, makes her the ideal candidate for this new role.
She takes the helm from Shelee Clark, who has assumed the position of HCS Director of Education Development and Student Support.
Please join Lakewood Elementary School in extending a warm welcome to Angela Pike as their new principal. With her leadership and dedication, Lakewood is sure to continue thriving as a place of excellence for its students.
