United Way to host a Day of Wellness at the Community Health Fair

September 14, 2023 By Greg Milby

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 23rd, because an exciting and health-focused event is coming to Elizabethtown! United Way of Central Kentucky is thrilled to announce its Community Health Fair, and they can’t wait to share all the fantastic resources and activities they have in store for you.

Date and Time: Saturday, September 23rd, from 10 am to 1 pm

Location: Williams Street in Elizabethtown (right outside the UWCK headquarters)

This event is a collaboration between UWCK, Baptist Health Hardin, and The Cecilian Bank, and it’s all about promoting health, education, and financial wellness in our community. They’ve teamed up with some incredible partners to make this day unforgettable for everyone who attends.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect:

1. Inflatable Obstacle Course: Courtesy of Fort Knox Army ROTC, they have an inflatable obstacle course that promises fun and physical activity for kids and adults alike. It’s a fantastic way to get moving and enjoy some friendly competition.

2. Healthy Cooking Demonstrations: Are you curious about how to prepare delicious and nutritious meals? Join them for healthy cooking demonstrations where you’ll not only learn some valuable cooking tips but also get to taste some mouthwatering samples. It’s a win-win for your taste buds and your health!

3. Wellness on Wheels: Baptist Health Hardin’s Wellness on Wheels bus will be on-site, providing valuable health information and services. Whether you need a check-up or health advice, their experts are here to help.

4. The Bookmobile: The Hardin County Public Library’s Bookmobile will be parked and ready for you to explore. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some new reading material or learn about the resources available at your local library.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Many more surprises and activities are planned to make this day memorable and educational for the entire family.

Whether you’re interested in improving your health, expanding your knowledge, or exploring options for financial wellness, our Community Health Fair has something for everyone. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to connect with your community and meet new friends who share your interests.

So, mark your calendar, and invite your friends and family, for Saturday, September 23rd, from 10 am to 1 pm on Williams Street in Elizabethtown.
